Telehealth care has become established as a strategy to expand access, ensure continuity of care, and contribute to equity in healthcare delivery, particularly during periods of high care demand or in geographically isolated settings where physical distance becomes a barrier. Its gradual incorporation into health systems worldwide, including the Chilean healthcare system, highlights the need for health professionals to possess competencies to interact effectively in virtual care environments, a situation that poses significant educational challenges for higher education. Accordingly, the aim of this study was to analyze perceptions of telehealth training in terms of technical, communicational, and ethical aspects among students, professionals, and academics in the discipline of Medical Technology with a specialization in Ophthalmology and Optometry in Chile.
