dc.description.abstractLa fuente principal de la extensa glosa que rodea la traducción del Infierno (1515) de Fernández de Villegas es el Comento sopra la Commedia de Landino, del que traduce o reescribe numerosos pasajes de acuerdo con su interés propagandístico respecto de la corona hispana. Analizaré aquí la recreación de los relatos insertos de Lucrezia, la Buona Gualdrada y Pier della Vigna, los cuales se presentan como traducción de Landino; un cotejo de las versiones de estos relatos en la tradición exegética anterior, sin embargo, revela la incidencia de las Esposizioni sopra la Comedia di Dante de Boccaccio. Además de demostrar que Villegas trabajó directamente con el commento boccaccesco de la Commedia, se analizará aquí cómo varios de los elementos de los que se sirve le permiten no solo introducir aciertos narrativos y estéticos con relación a los relatos de Landino, sino también realizar su reescritura apologética de manera más acabada.es_ES
dc.description.abstractThe main source of the extensive gloss that surrounds Fernández de Villegas’ translation of the Inferno (1515) is Landino's Comento sopra la Commedia. Villegas translated and rewrote many of its passages in such a way as to display propagandistic connotations regarding the Hispanic crown. I will here analyse the recreation of the inserted stories of Lucrezia, la Buona Gualdrada and Pier della Vigna: though they appear to be translations of Landino, a thorough collation of the versions of other earliest commentators reveals the influence of Boccaccio's Esposizioni sopra la Comedia di Dante. Besides demonstrating that Villegas worked directly with the Boccaccian commento of the Commedia, I shall analyse how several of its elements allowed him not only to introduce narrative and aesthetic nuances in relation to Landino's stories, but also to carry out his apologetic rewriting in a more precise way.
