Rasgos relevantes del Sistema de Educación Superior en Chile:

Abstract

El presente artículo tiene el propósito de proveer una panorámica general del sistema de educación superior (SES) con la idea comprender distintas aristas de su actual desarrollo. Para esto, el texto identifica un conjunto de dimensiones que permiten caracterizar el sistema, a saber: contexto, marco legal normativo, políticas nacionales de educación superior, institucionalidad, procesos de selección de alumnos, régimen de financiamiento, alumnado y representatividad, certificación de profesionales, empleabilidad, profesorado e investigadores.

This article aims at presenting a general view of the higher education system (HES) in order to understand the differentaspects of its current development. To do this, this article identifies a set of dimensions that allow characterizing the system, namely: context, regulative legal framework, national policies on higher education, institutionality, student selection process, funding system, student body and representation, Certification of professionals, emplo- yability, faculty and researchers.
