The Gabriela Mistral University Library has developed the following Academic Repository in order to preserve, disseminate and make available the full-text contents of the academic production developed by the different actors in the academic and research field of the University.

dc.description.abstractEl derecho a vivir en un medio ambiente libre de contaminación (art. 19 N° 8 de la Constitución Política) es uno de los nuevos bienes jurídicos que cautela la Carta Fundamental. Novedosa en muchos de sus preceptos, en especial en lo referente a los derechos fundamentales, la normativa constitucional que nos rige ha reconocido como derecho humano básico el de vivir en un medio ambiente libre de contaminación, reservando al Estado la cautela de otros valores sociales de carácter ecológico que, siendo relevantes, no alcanzan la dimensión jurídica de una garantía constitucional. Este Informe abarca la historia, extensión y marco interpretativo que debe darse al derecho en comento.es_ES
