Ricoeur's narrative philosophy finds a connection in Arendt's philosophy, especially in "The Human Condition". There, this foundation of the person as someone or as who in the community is expressed. There he finds his fulfillment. In this way, the person also finds for himself his identity through what Arendt calls “in acting and speaking”, which implies an active action in the public space. The expression "himself as another" that appears in Ricoeur's “Approaches to the Person”, seems to point in the same direction as Arendt with regard to the search and encounter of personal identity. Keywords: Arendt and Ricoeur, narrative identity, human condition, persona identity ethics.
