Nuevas alfabetizaciones y desafíos en la educación:

Abstract

La irrupción de las nuevas tecnologías de información y comunicación (TIC) en el presente de estudiantes y profesores ha contribuido en el desarrollo de una nueva ecología cultural, caracterizada por la convergencia del mundo virtual y presencial. Lo anterior ha facilitado el desarrollo de nuevas alfabetizaciones, frecuentemente asociadas a los conceptos “alfabetización digital” y “ciudadanía digital”. Este nuevo escenario ha presentado desafíos en la configuración del rol profesional docente. El presente artículo pretende exponer las diversas perspectivas que han contribuido durante los últimos años al debate sobre el rol de las TIC en el aprendizaje, los desafíos que enfrenta el mundo docente (tanto en el ámbito escolar como superior) y la potencial colaboración entre la integración de TIC y diferentes estilos pedagógicos.

The irruption of information and communication technologies (ICT) in the world of students and teachers has contributed in the development of a new cultural ecology, which is characterized by the convergence of face-to-face and virtual settings of interaction. nA significant outcome of these changes is the development of new literacies, often related to the terms “digital literacies” and “digital citizenship”. Moreover, the new scenario has offered challenges to the professional role of teachers. This article aims to expose different perspectives concerning the role of ICT in learning, the challenges that teachers might encounter (either in school or higher education) and the potential collaboration between ICT integration and different pedagogies or styles of teaching.
