The objective of this article is to consider the importance of educational policies issued by MINEDUC. These policies highlight the role played by the educational institution towards creating innovative instances of participation designed for fostering families to engage deeply as members of the institutional community. lt should be noted that orientation of Special Education (2006 - 2010) explicitly specifies the function of families as the main collaborative and educative element in the learning process, an active participant to attain a sig- nificant achievement, and their ability to adapt themselves socially in order to make their children fit in society From this standpoint. School and Family must collaborate with each other in order to strengthen the education process. For this reason. the current Special Education policy encourages this form of participation, which has a positive influence on students.
